War Remnants Museum

War Remnants Museum

Located in District 3, the War Remnants Museum stands as the most visited museum in Ho Chi Minh City and one of the country’s most powerful records of the Vietnam War. The museum holds a collection of more than 20,000 documents, photographs, and artifacts, with outdoor courtyards displaying captured US fighter jets, helicopters, and tanks, while the indoor galleries present extensive photographic documentation and personal artifacts detailing the human cost of the conflict.

This is a thoughtful, somber experience rather than a casual stop, with exhibitions on Agent Orange and acclaimed war photography offering a deeply moving perspective on Vietnam’s modern history. Most visitors spend at least two hours moving through the full collection at an unhurried pace.
